Health & Safety

Without a doubt the most important issue to address when providing a service within the construction industry. The implementation and constant monitoring of our Health and Safety structure is taken very seriously by RPH. We are able to maintain a high standard in this regard by working closely with the “BSC” (British Safety Council) and an approved independent consultancy firm. Being constantly updated with current legislation ensures that we are able to adopt the correct methods and procedures for the safe operation and installation of our equipment. This ongoing commitment is enforced by our appointed Health and Safety officer who has the necessary qualifications in Company Safety Management.

Commissioning

In accordance with Health and Safety regulations, commissioning (where applicable) of installed plant is always certified and carried out in full by RPH’s qualified installers. This involves load testing the equipment to ensure that it is safe to use within the manufacturers stated capacity. Once the result of the test has proved satisfactory a plant handover certificate can be issued to the customer.

Call Out Service

In the event of assistance being required on site, RPH provide an excellent service sending a technician or installer to site rapidly. There are many instances where this may be required, possibilities are:

• Hoist or Elevator needs extending or repositioning
• Repair of vandalised equipment
• Functional failure of equipment.
  (Rare occurrence - usually due to poor power supply)

RPH will endeavour to attend site quickly, ensuring as little “Down Time” for you - the customer - as possible.

Plant Maintenance

All of our equipment is tested in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, this is a very stringent examination and ensures our equipment is maintained to a very high standard in accordance with LOLER Regulations (Lifting Operation and Lifting Equipment Regulations). Our equipment is checked in this way after every hire and is not allowed to move from job to job without first going through the formal testing procedure.
 
Delivery

RPH provide a nationwide coverage for delivery and installation of hoisting equipment. Predominently in the London area and the home counties, we have over many many years gained a reputation for offering a supreme service. With teams consisting of fully qualified installers, our hoists are not only erected speedily but most importantly, safely. RPH will respond quickly and efficiently to your order, often with the ability to make a delivery the same day or the following day if necessary.
 
CSCS
 
RPH are committed to CSCS and have the appropriate certificates to operate our machines and erect them. The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is the industry's largest scheme and, at present, covers 220 occupations including trades, technical, supervisory and management. CSCS cards list the holder’s qualifications and are valid for either three or five years. It also shows they have health and safety awareness as all cardholders have to pass the appropriate CITB-Construction Skills Health and Safety Test. Most contractors and clients now demand proof of competence, before allowing workers onto their sites, which is provided by a CSCS card. Not having a CSCS card may affect your ability to work on certain sites.
